Iridium Satellite Communications is the company that manufactures Iridium Satellite Phones & provides Iridium satellite phone service. Iridium achieves total global coverage with its 66 low earth orbit satellites. There have been a total of four mobile satellite phone models produced by Iridium over the years. They are, in order: the Motorola 9500, the Motorola 9505, the Iridium 9505a and the Iridium 9555. To their credit, all of these models still function, and many of the first model 9500 sat phones are still in use 12 years after manufacture. Today, Iridium has approximately 350,000 satellite phone subscribers. All Road Sat’s exclusive Iridium Satellite Phone Plans and Iridium Prepaid Plans are both competitive and practical.
