No we’re not wack jobs, we are people with a stake in the future, just like you. The way we do business affects the environment in which we all have to live, therefore we as a Company have a responsibility to reduce our footprint and even set an example where possible. Here is how we play our part:
Recycle Baby
Whenever possible we recycle. We reuse shipping boxes, we print on 100% Post Consumer Waste non-bleached recycled paper. We also use recycled Post-it notes made by 3M. We re-use packing materials that are sent to us by our customers.
Sun Power
We offer 25W solar panels to our rental customers so that they can recharge their phones off the grid. Not only do these make sense from an environmental point of view, but they also serve to offer power where none is available. Most recently these came in handy in Haiti where almost no power was available after the earthquake.
Oil Sucks
So we want to use less of it. We purchased 3 Toyota Prius vehicles to use for day to day business, and for all local deliveries of satellite phones. Yeah they got recalled but doesn’t everything these days? Anyway these cars enable us to keep costs low and emit less pollution into the environment. We get about 50 miles to the gallon, and with gas ranging from $3 to $5 a gallon here in California, well, you do the math!
Local, Vegan, Organic Meals
We provide free organic vegan meals for all our staff every day. Vegan diets are lower impact than diets with animal products and promote strong health amongst our staff, and yes, we also care about animals. We also purchase, wherever possible, all produce from local farmers.
Chemical Free Cleaning
We like to keep our office clean, but breathing chemicals is not appealing so we only use non-toxic and biodegradable cleaning supplies.
